I bit the bullet...

Okay, I did it, after several months of requesting PFD's and having no luck, I took the plunge, got a 16000 loan (doesn't report to the credit bureau's), consolidated all my debt, collections, and even my car (which was a 30% interest rate). My reasoning is that the collection agencies were reporting derogatory weekly, not even monthly. At 30%, I'd never get out of that car loan, and I'm hoping that because this CU doesn't report to the bureaus, it will drop my uti to 1%. I had 7 collection, 4 charge offs, and until recently nothing good reporting. I guess now I'll start with the GW's.

Ouch! A 30% car loan! That's obscene. May I ask what your credit scores are?

If at all possible, I'd suggest that you start PFD'ing. Negotiating with the OC's and CA's.

Re: I bit the bullet...

I haven't checked my FICO's in about 6 months, my TC's are 545 515 574. PFD's don't work and everything is paid off now anyway. I just have to start GW'ing.

Have you tried Propser.com?  I know there are other websites (go to clarkhoward.com and search prosper.com --there's another like site, but I can't remember the name).  That's where peers give loans.  You might find a better deal.  30% is a horrible rate.

I know, I'm out of the 30% now, I'm in at 11%.
