I'm gonna write some GW letters but have a few questions

I have 2 credit cards from 2004 that went 30/60/90 late and eventually into collection. I settled both of them about 6 months later for less then the full amount. They show as closed accounts and collection charge offs on my credit report. Ironically, I now have 2 newer credit cards (about 1 year old) with the same 2 credit card companies. This time they are flawless. So does it seem like I might have a good chance sending them a GW letter for the original accounts and hopefully have them stop reporting the lates and collections? Also I have one more question. In my GW letters do I need to give them the account numbers for those original accounts? If so, here would I find them. They don't show on my credit report. Thanks.

Sending a GW won't hurt any. You can find the org. acct numbers on your CR pulled directly from the CRAs. MYFICO and TC seems to mask most of the numbers.

I'm about 0 for 20 on GWs, but have had subtle changes on my CR likely resulting from the GWs. GW acceptance is based on the creditor but it doesn't hurt to try. I would send your GWs every thirty days until they accept.

Yeah that's the problem. I pulled them from TC and most of the account number is blocked. Does anyone know if the credit card company would still have those account numbers on file? It was almost 4 years ago.
