I'm so confused!

I checked my fako scores from Truecredit tonight and my Equifax (fako) increased by 46 pts! It took me a while, but I compared my report from 2 days ago and an old paid collection I had disputed months ago just dropped off. Well needless to say 46 pts made me want to pull my "real" Equifax score through this site!  I did and wow,was I disppointed!  Same score as I had the last time I pulled,  over a month ago.

I realize you can't go by the TC scores, but if an old collection dropped and the score on that site went up by that many points, I would think my "true" equifax score through myfico.com would reflect some change for the better.

Needless to say, I am confused.

Do you have other collections remaining?

You get dinged more for having the presence of a collection rather than how many or how much the collections are.

When you have a collection removed and still have collections remaining, generally expect little or no score increase, unless the collection was fairly recent, then maybe a few extra points.

Re: I'm so confused!

Thanks for the reply.  I have one other collection from 11/2004, but it was paid in Feb of 2005.  I overlooked my last elec bill after a move. Rough period, had a lot on my mind from a separation.  Anyway, that all that's there.  Wish I had found the forum back then.  I was told that the collection would be removed when I paid it, but we all know the "rest of the story" on that one. Live and learn!

TC doesn't seem to be much help to me. I use it to monitor things like this, and because their score went up by a lot, I thought I'd pay to get the Fico score.  Oh well......................

I would send GW letters to have that paid collection removed.
