Re: If you ever get hacked and you use NFCU for your checking, make sure to only use their bill pay!

I am so sorry to hear about this.

They seem so crazy detailed about their security process this is insane.

It took me over a month to go through their security just to open my membership.

I also applied for a business bank account last week and it was rejected because my ficitious name paperwork for my business did not include my middle name and JR at the end of my last name. So I have to ammend it through the state before they will open it.

With all the security steps they take it seems so crazy.

I hope it gets resolved soom.

This is crazy.

I hope you get to the bottom of this. This makes you wonder how they got your sign on info (username/password) for NFCU. Did they call in, pretending to be you, and initiate a transfer? It just doesn't add up.

If you are serious about switching, USAA requires, at every logon, a PIN and the answer to your "secret question". And like anything else, your answer can be anything arbitrary that doesn't connect to you.   Another option is to ALSO have a verification code sent to your phone everytime. So, basically, they offer a 3 prong failsafe. It can get annoying, but it sounds like less of a headache than what you are going thru.

Please keep us posted as to what you find out about your case. Hopefully it can be a teaching moment for the rest of us.

Good luck!
