In following up on a GW...

In following up on a GW to Wells Fargo Card Services, and as a checking and savings account member of Wells Fargo, would I improve my chances if I say that I'll switch banks if they don't show some kind of assistance?

Probably not. In my experience with them, they do no have good customer service. I had unauthorized money take from my account which caused about 10 overdrafts. Not only did it take them 3 weeks to give me the money back, they would only reverse 5 of the overdrafts. At $35 a pop, it is way too much. I changed banks.

Re: In following up on a GW...

I will never bank with them.  My sister has an account with them and they are terrible.  She recently got laid off and had to collect unemployment for about a month before she started her new job.  She didn't have an overdrawn account or anything and every Friday when she would deposit her unemployment check, they would put a 3 day hold on it!!!  No ifs, ands or buts about it.  Then, she deposited an inheritance check for $11000 and they held it for 3 weeks!  So, she opened an account with Washington Mutual instead.  WF is terrible.  Good luck with them!!!

Re: In following up on a GW...

Yes, the customer service thing is pretty infuriating, for all credit repair inquiries. It seems that the person is ignorant or well-trained, it's hard to tell which. I'll be sure to ask for a manager, though I'll probably still get the run around.

And, yes, Wells Fargo has never struck me as customer friendly. I've also had the overdraft conundrum. They told me that they fund larger purchases first because "we imagine those are more important," when they could have covered each small purchase and marked one overdraft fee for the larger purchase. And for a period they charged $2 for customer service calls, but they've long since dropped that fee. So, all in all, I wouldn't mind switching banks anyway...maybe the honesty will come through when I try use this as leverage.
