I think you're misinterpreting what I've said above and I'm in no way discouraging you from anything at all. What you're suggesting is asking for forgiveness (known as acts of goodwill) from a lender based on a situation or circumstance. This is very common and there's nothing at all wrong with doing this. People may have a situation similar to yours, or perhaps anything else such as loss of a job, death of a family member, etc. that can result in missed payments. A lender may be empathetic to any such situation or circumstance and agree to remove negative information as an act of goodwill. This is however very different than what you originally said, which was suggestive to me anyway that the FICO algorithm itself should somehow take such an event into consideration. The algorithm is just a computer program that has no feelings and is able to generate a score based only on the input data. A GW adjustment involves a human being, which of course can have feelings and emotions and act based on those. These are two very different things that I feel need to be distinguished here.
