Well, though I was supposed to be a direct deposit in the first round which didn't happen, I thought I'd wait to see if the IRS somehow decided to mail me a check. Well if I'm a 1X that IRS web link telling of a person's check disposition would have shown that starting Friday the 16th wouldn't it have?
Still nothing.

Mine is 62 and received on Saturday. A friend is 61, hasn't received. Her b/f is 23 and hasn't received. We all filed within a few days of one another.

Have you gotten a letter in the mail that says "your stimulus will be XXXX dollars and you should receive by XXXX"

They say you'll get that 1 week before you get your check. I got mine on Monday and check on Saturday.

Re: Inevitable 'Didn't Get' EPS thread

I've seen nothing. I've heard nothing. No direct deposit. No letters in the mail stating anything. The web site just keeps saying "we're sorry.....no information"
My check for $1262 to the IRS actually cleared my bank well before April 15th which suggest to me  I was processed in time.
I promise you Sidewinder, I know all the rules.

Re: Inevitable 'Didn't Get' EPS thread

I got mine in the mail Monday, a paper check for $1,200. I've really been looking forward to it, because I have a PFD agreement for an old Applied Card account that I was planning to pay with it.

But while I have the check, I don't have the money. It's made out to Me and my ex-wife because we were still married and filed jointly. Can't do anything without her signature. I already endorsed it before I knew that. She's a thousand miles away, and she's a drug addict. So if I send it to her to sign, I'll never see a dime out of it.

Re: Inevitable 'Didn't Get' EPS thread

I had a number to call to check on this thing but it didn't work. I don't know how I got it.
Does anybody know a phone number I can call to find out what happened to my rebate?

It turns out the number didn't do anything the web site didn't do.
I never got my check and no way to investigate it. Very dissapointing.

If you "know all the rules" then you should know (at least by now) that the IRS not only has a proviso on their website that states that *some* taxpayers may experience a delay (perhaps a "quickie audit?" -- who knows since they don't go into detail WHY) but also that over 15,000 direct deposits were made into the wrong accounts and the IRS is STILL trying to fix it.

Ironic that if you were to get a paper check mailed to you (as I did), you'll more than likely get it sooner than if you opted for D/D (which, obviously, according to common sense and the website schedule, is supposed to be quicker).

If you'd like additional answers, there's a blog out there that's been good with info on the ESP ... www.bluebloggin.com. You might find answers there!

Re: Inevitable 'Didn't Get' EPS thread

AFAIK, from what I've been told, the IRS won't be able to give any details on the ESP to taxpayers who are experiencing a "delay" in processing.

The "delay" can be attributed to workload, possible offsets, paperwork that has errors (though even if your paperwork has errors, they'll still cash your tax check!!), and so on.

Also, the IRS has pretty much said that if you're one of the 15,000 who had their deposits routed to the wrong account, you'll have to be patient while they figure things out and fix'em. They won't know anything until they actually know anything.

FTR, the ESP was a last minute thing ... the IRS actually had little time to prep and execute the whole shebang. It wasn't until deposits were actually being made that they realized the whole "paid for tax prep with refund" thing ... which resulted in checks having to be mailed out, obviously.

I feel for'em. I get antsy when DD or DS comes home with a quickie bill to be paid (school stuff, school dance, field trip) ... and that's only two teens to worry about and deal with!! I can't imagine dealing with millions of taxpayers and millions of accounts and addies!! Lord Bless'em and help'em!!

Re: Inevitable 'Didn't Get' EPS thread

On Monday, June 9 I was finally able to see something other than "Sorry, we know nothing" on the IRS web site. It said I could expext direct deposit on Friday June 13. 45 days late.
It also said that I would get a note in the mail saying how much I had coming. I didn't get that note. Only Friday will tell. On another note, now when I open the IRS ESP inquiry page and plug in my SS#, a blank page opens.
I have money and am OK but this could have been tragic to somebody who had to bank on it. I still won't hold my breat for Friday.
Surely I'm not the only preson this has happened to.

A LOT of people banked on getting their ESP direct deposited (folks that paid tax prep fees with their refund, especially) and got messed over BAD. To a degree, we were banking on it, too (but only to pay old debts and fix our credit). I've heard several people pretty much say that they planned on using their ESP to "pay back" their bank account for big purchases, like vacations and whatnot. When the ESP failed to show up (with the tax prep fee folks, they had to wait MONTHS for the paper check to be cut and sent), many of them went into the red. Smiley Sad

I've also heard that many people were hoping to get the ESP in time to prevent foreclosure, too. Smiley Sad

We got the statement telling us how much we were to get ONE DAY before we actually got the paper check (we fell into the "paid tax prep fees by refund"). But we were lucky ... hubby's SSN ends in 07. Check seemed to have been mailed May 16th on the dot, and we had it in hand on the 20th.

BTW, I hope you didn't take my posts as being snotty to YOU ... more like I'm a bit jaded with the proliferation of disclaimers on the IRS web site.

Despite that, I do feel for the IRS (crazy, eh?). They had little time to prepare for all this ... and they're having to deal with so many problems due to the shortsightedness of the system. :/

Anywho, I hope you get your ESP SOON!!!
