No credit card required

MY APOLOGIES, FOUND PLENTY OF THREADS ON THIS TOPIC!
Probably said something like "Your info was found on the dark web". Having your credit reports locked is a good first step.
Other steps to consider:
Make sure that you are using unique passwords across all of your online accounts and that they are substantively different from each other. You don't want to use "Babbles1", "Babbles2", and "Babbles3" for passwords.
Minimize credit card information saved on your online accounts. As a simple example you can have fistfuls of credit cards saved on an Amazon account but just because you can doesn't mean that it's a good idea to do it.
Enable multifactor authorization on any of your accounts that offers it as an optional feature. Many banks and CUs already require it via text messaging and while SMS isn't exactly the most robust authentication tool it is a vast improvement over just using name/password protection.
If needed, use a password manager to help you keep track of your info.
Glad you found it.

Add a card or cards as needed to make your 50 cent reloads and then remove them.
You need to balance risk vs. reward when it comes to having AMEX MR or Citi TYP earners and Discover cards added as without them you won't be eligible for the related 20%-30%-40% type promotions.
