Inquiries reporting - just hit 2 year mark

Hi All -

I just pulled my EXP report (going to tackle TU and EQ in the next few days) and there are 5 credit inquiries from April 8, 2009 from attempts to finance a car.  My EXP report specifically states at the top that inquiries remain on your report for 2 years, but after searching around the Myfico.com boards, I understand that these inquiries do not factor into your FICO after 1 year.  Should I even bother to write the CRA to remove these inquiries since I have hit the 2 year mark, will it make any positive impact on my score?

Thanks for all the help!

If the inquiries are legit, I wouldn't worry about them. And yes, inquiries older than one year have zero impact on FICO and lender, I'd guess, don't care either based on the age and purpose (rate shopping for a car).

I wouldn't write them, but I sure would give them a call and have them deleted.  Inquiries one year old may not have any affect  on FICO score, but FICO scores are not the only scoring models out there.  My last inquiry on my TU report is scheduled for deletion this Sunday.  Monday, when I check creditkarma, my report should say zero inquiries.  If not, I'm giving TU a call without hesitation.

If I recall correctly, Experian usually deletes at the end of the month, rather than on the "anniversary" of the dispute. Why am I not surprised...

That's true!   With EX, I always have to call them to delete my inquiries right at the two year mark.  I never had the patience to wait for them to delete at the end of month expecially when the 2 years mark is at the beginning of the month.    And when I call them, they delete and update the credit report the same day.

Great, thanks for all the info Smiley Happy  Does anyone have the best number to contact EX to call and have them drop those inquiries?  Thank you Smiley Happy
