Inquiry Drop Off dates

If an inquiry was made on October 1, 2007, is it supposed to drop on October 1, 2009 or by the end of October 2009?

Re: Inquiry Drop Off dates

I had 2 inquiries come off of my reports at the end of September, that were dated 9/09/09 and 9/11/09, so in my case it was at the end of the month, I'm not sure if that's the rule though.

Hi, if these inquiries are on your ex credit report you always have to wait a little bit longer they have a certain sweep system. but with tu and eq the inquiries always came off my reports 2 years right after the date the inquiry was placed.

Yeah, they are on EX.  Smiley Sad

Do you figure they'd be off by the end of the month?

Re: Inquiry Drop Off dates

Hi, it should be the 1st or 2nd week of November but the trick I usually do for myself is I call the ex dispute# 1-800-509-8495 and I explain to the rep that there is an inquiry that is over 2 years that is still on my cr and that tu and eq are always removed the very next day over the 2 year mark and rep puts in a request to see what can be done, and the very next day I recieved an email notification from ex and the inquiry was removed earlier for me as I have done this twice with success, a couple of months ago on my last inquiry I did this and this is how I found out about this certain inquiry sweep that ex does for everyone that is due which is a different from what tu and eq does.  Good Luck

Re: Inquiry Drop Off dates

I call EX every month to have inquires deleted.  I called just last Friday to delete 2 Oct. 8, 2007 inquiries.  One shouldn't have to wait until Nov. 1st for the system to automatically remove. it.  EX doesnt mind deleting the inquiries one day after the expiration date.  They will delete it that same day.

Remember that, while inquiries remain for two years, FICO does not include them in your scoring after one year.

That is true.  I'd just feel better when they disappear although I guess even most creditors only look at those within the past 6 months or so.

+1.  I had a total of 26 inquiries on my TU report and still had a 771 FICO score.

Creditors look at all inquiries.
