Installment loan? key?

I'm considering coming out of the garden to get some sort of installment loan.

I know its another key component in building a great score, how would I go about getting one? (not student loans or car lease)

Re: Installment loan? key?

A simple and elegant solution is a 500 dollar 4 year share secured loan from alliant CU. Open a savings account online with 500 bucks(will take about 10 minutes). Apply for share secured loan (will take about 5 minutes). They will email you the paperwork to sign by computer and email back in a day or 2. They lock up your 500 bucks and deposit 500 into your account. They will auto deduct the payment from the account every month (payment is around 11 dollars.) it will cost you around 28 bucks in interest over the 4 year term of the loan and you will earn about 7 bucks in interest on the money in the savings account so net cost about 20 bucks for a nice simple installment loan on your report. Re: Installment loan? key?

Just open the regular share savings account. Once you get thru that you will see apply for loans on the online login. Share secured loan is one of the options.it really is a simple process. Alternatively you can call them and do all of it by phone. I believe it was EQ they pull but i got nothing but a soft pull for membership and the share secured loan.

Great info! Have one question: is it possible to PIF this loan in case I need to get rid of it?

you can always pay this loan off early, but there really isn't a reason too. They release the funds as you pay it offf. IE... after a year you will have paid off roughly 100 dollars of the loan, and they will only have 400 held back. The security deposit drops by whatever principal you pay off each month.

Re: Installment loan? key?

What kind of score boost is usually seen by throwing an installment loan into the mix? DGF's mom who I've been helping rebuild I know is getting dinged for not having any type of installment loan. I may suggest this to her.
