I am struggling to find a way to get a judgement vacated on my Experian report. I was young and naive when it happened. When I got served, I panicked and went to my landlord. My rent was a few weeks late because of a medical emergency and they filed suit. I told him that I didn't have the money at the time, but would have it about 2 days after the court date. I asked him if it would be okay to pay him then. He told me not to worry about it. He said that if I paid them I didn't have to show up and the charges would be dropped. Well, imagine my surprise when last year I pulled up my CR and the judgement is showing. It's also showing as unpaid. I received a letter of satisfaction from the Magistrate and am still working to get it to show correctly on my Experian report.
My question is, can I put in a motion to vacate since I had made payment arrangements with the suing party prior to the court date? I am so frustrated by the entire situation.
