I just checked my Experian report for the first time ever. It shows a request on 5/8/2013 from LEXISNEXIS/STATE FARM
The comment states: On behalf of STATE FARM INSURANCE COM for Insurance underwriting
I am not insured through State Farm. I think I may have requested a quote a while ago, but I never gave them my SSN, only my Driver's Liscense Number. Can they still check it from that info?
Just wondering why/how they checked it, and if this is pretty normal to see?
Was this a soft pull?
Yes, creditors can pull your credit without access to your SSN.
Yes, it was a soft pull. I did not know they could do that without SSN. Interesting, though, and now I at least know why it's there.
Thanks!
