Land Sales Contract - Reporting

I just bought a house with the seller carrying the contract. All payments go through a Title company and they handle all the taxes and insurance, etc. They say they don't report to CRA's because they are a 3rd party and not involved with either buyer or seller. Is there any way that I can get this on my reports myself so I can build a payment history?

Re: Land Sales Contract - Reporting

sorry to be annoying with this one gang, but i think a mortgage payment would help my credit a lot. is there any way to get the CRA's to report this? can i send them copies of payment histories or something to get them to post it? can the seller do it if she's not a business?

The only way I kow of is to have the title company put it on there.  If they don't there is really nohting you can do.

Re: Land Sales Contract - Reporting

Contact your seller. See if they would be willing to report. Then contact the repositories and see what they would need to do to report. As this is probably a pain for an individual you might have to offer them some dollars. Also check with other title companies. If there is one who will report perhaps the seller would change mortgage servicers. If not a title company it could possibly be set up with a bank as servicer and they are more set up to report. If all else fails you could refinance.
