Lending Tree

Anybody used Lending Tree for a mortgage? I applied through Costco a couple hours ago and am waiting for my offer e-mail. How long can this take? My scores are TU 640, EQ 668 and EX 679. I think I should qualify for something decent. Anybody share any experiences with this process?

Re: Lending Tree

Yes, I used Lending Tree back in April to refi my mortgage.  I got the offers like they said I would.  Took a couple of hours to get my first email, then the others came within 24 hours.  I found a wonderful company to work with and my refi went ok.  The only thing I didn't like about Lending Tree was that they send out your app to everyone under the sun.  It's not like you just get 5 offers and that's it.  You have like 20 offers and they all call you and tell you that they can give you better rates than this one, etc...just let us pull your credit.  I was not quite as savvy as I am now, lol, and I had way more pulls than I really needed.  Please be very selective in who you let pull your credit.  Since you know your fico's get the offers based upon what you already know and wait to let anyone pull your score.  Aside from that aspect, no problems at all.

Many years ago I used LT. LT did a soft and then everyone and their brother did a hard.

Look in the loans thread. You will find out alot more goes into getting a mortgage than score.

Down payment, DTI, reserves, current mortgage(or rent) payment history,

I think there is a whole thread on LT if you do a search...   Smiley Happy
The slide from grace is really more like gliding
And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid
