Hi all, I just received my first Nexis Lexis Credit report. It's 70 pages long, and while it is filled with typographical errors (e.g., in the identification records, it refers to my full name as "P", which is my middle initial, and it lists a 2nd DOB which is not correct), I recognize all the addresses and understand why they might be there, so I think probably it's not worth the effort to make those kinds of corrections.
But what is very puzzling to me, is why some of the "sources" of this information in this report would be sources of "my" information. For example, I see these listed as data sources many multiple times:
OHIO DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY 1970 WEST BROAD STREET COLUMBUS, OHIO 43223
(614)7527691
CONNECTICUT DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES 60 STATE STREET WETHERSFIELD,
CONNECTICUT 06161
I have never set foot in the state of Ohio, so what good reason is there for them to have and provide my data to LexisNexis? Same goes for Connecticut, which I've only been to once for a few days on a business trip, probably about 25 years ago. I certainly didn't get any traffic tickets from the DPS while I was there.
Anyone know why these would be listed as sources on this report?
TIA.
Who knows. Go thru a toll road? License plate reader?

From what you've described, it's a mystery to me as to how those entities became sources of information on you.
My experience with Lexis Nexis was that I ordered my report, found a number of incorrect entries like what you're describing -- e.g., addresses at which I've never lived, entities with which I've never been associated, etc. -- and, with little expectations of getting anywhere with it, sent them a long, 3 or 4 page single spaced letter listing all the items that were incorrect.
In about a month they sent me a corrected report, which had removed all the bad data. A pleasant surprise.
Hey, I drive by 1970 w broad st. Once in a while. The place is crawling with cops! Want me to stop in and see what they have on you?
