Looking for answers re: judgment

Greetings all. Thanks for all the great inside info. I've been trying to clean up my credit after a divorce. Of course we all have stories but I'll skip mine and try to stick to the point. I have two situations I'd like some advice on: I have a judgment for a credit card for an amount of $900 or so from May of 2005. I also have a charged off account for approximately $2000 with no activity since March of 2004. They are the same account. What's the best way for me to clean this up? Second, I had another card go to collection about the same time, to NCO. I made a settlement agreement and paid NCO. The card is still on all three of my CR's with a balance due. NCO also has an inquiry for when I made the settlement. Should I be able to get them to clear up both items, and if so, how? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

NCO did the same thing with me.  Sent me a settlement offer, I paid it, and they were still calling and leaving messages five months later.  When I finally spoke with one of the reps, they didn't have any settlement offer listed.  It was only because I'd made copies of everything and had to fax it to them when they finally closed the acct with zero balance.  But still have them on my CR as 120+due paid. Documentation, documentation.  I'm in current dispute over the 120+ late with them.

Re: Looking for answers re: judgment

An answer to my own question: I called the original card company for the charged off account showing a balance of 2000. They referred me to NCO, their collection agency, which put me in touch with the lawyer that handled the judgment. I paid the original card company the balance that went to judgment plus fees and court costs by sending a cashiers check to the lawyer. When I spoke with them (lawyer) on the phone I asked them to send me a letter confirming the amount due and outcome upon receipt. I gave them a week or so to process the check then called for a release or satisfaction letter. They said they had already sent one to the court but would send one to me too since I asked for it. I got it in the mail today so off copies go the CRA's with dispute letters to update my history. Just waiting on the court to update I would suspect could take months if at all. As to NCO regarding the balance due on a settled account, they've told me they're sending a release letter but I'm still waiting for it. Their information confirmed I had paid as agreed and the balance should be zero. Looking forward to having both these items cleaned up, I'm trying to get a house built.
