Wouldn’t it be easier just to spend the $4000, pay it before the statement cuts and then spend another $4000 after statement cut? Would maximize score with low utilization and the same time lenders would see the payments.

I believe BBS want's OP to show spend to other CC issuers.

Depending on issuer, payments can be reported even with a zero balance. Some do some dont.

That's a fine option as well, it just takes away the "float" that many people see value in with credit cards... basically borrowing that $4000 for an extra 3-4 weeks interest-free.  I personally don't float balances from month to month, but I know many on this forum do as it is one of the beauties of CCs.
