Re: Low Utilization - Credit Score Drop

Please understand that when you are trying to build your credit profile, everything that yo do will cause something to happen, especially when your profile is thin.

- Add an inquiry, something will happen

- Open a new account, something will happen

- Pay off your balances, something will happen

- Have a balance reported, something will happen

- Add an account, something will happen, etc......

Yes, it can be very frustrating at times, but do not worry, as long as your handeling your credit wisely, it will improve. Over time as your credit profile builds, these small little things make less of an impact each time.

Also, take into account that you can check your credit through a thousand different sites and you may get a different score each time. CK = Vantage, MyFico = Fico, etc....... Each lender may use a different scoring madel, yes, even if they were all using FICO, which most do, the scores might be different.

Re: Low Utilization - Credit Score Drop

ever hear the saying "itll get worse before it gets better"? thats the thing. mine went down 20 points or so before shooting up 40 a few months later. just gotta wait it out. its like... an ocean. you have high times and low times. just stick with it. the older your report is the less itll matter.

keep this in mind too. if you have a vehicle that gives you REAL time MPG, if you reset it then itll say youre getting like 100 MPG, then you floor it and it says 5 mpg. well, after its been on a while, you wont see it fluctuate but may half a gallon MPG all day. its the same concept.
