MY FICO and Transunion Discrepancy???

I contacted Transunion by phone this morning to dispute a collection that is on my report from My FICO.  This is a collection in which I paid the OC and was told that the account would be recalled.  I called the CA and they said that it was reporting as $0 balance and they wouldnt delete it.  So I contacted Transunion directy since I have a letter stating it was PIF.  THEN, TU told me that the collection wasnt on my report and that MY FICO is third party and they sometimes combine info.  I trust MY FICO and I definately heard what TU said from the horses mouth...Anyone ever dealt with this..Is the rep at TU making a mistake or is MY FICO. I pulled my TU yesterday and the collection was on there.  Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Re: MY FICO and Transunion Discrepancy???

You could dispute through their online system or via mail instead of over the phone?  If you dispute via mail, attach the copy of the report you pulled yesterday to your dispute, highlighting the item you are disputing.  If you do it online, they will list all the things on your report so you can choose what to dispute.  If it is on that list, it is on your report, and vice versa.

Re: MY FICO and Transunion Discrepancy???

I'd call back TU and speak to a different rep, and see what info that rep gives you, if it's the same info the prior rep told you (the CA is not there) then at least you know that it's really not there, and you are not left wondering if the first rep at TU was wrong.

myFICO pulls directly from TU, so if the CA is not on your TU report, it should not show up on your myFICO TU report, 3rd party or not.

You said you called TU the morning of the 16th of Feb but you pulled your TU report the day before (the 15th of Feb) could it be possible that the CA was still on your TU report on the 15th when you pulled your TU here at myFICO but removed on the 16th when you called TU????

That's about all I can think of. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Best of Luck.
