Medical Bill Question

I pulled my REPORTS  last month and here it goes...

I have one -ve mark on my report ( EX and EQ ) about a $30 hospital bill since 7/07 ( but they start reporting it in 6/09, its by a CA not OC), Here is a brief histoty

1) Its says on my report that first date of Deliquncy is 7/07 ( I was in ER that day for adverse reaction to my chemotherapy)

2) My insurance cover 100% of amount after $75 copay in case I go to ER ( so that infact was covered by them as my wife paid $75 copay right there)

3) I did a lot of running around to see if i owe Hospital anything, We got all the Bills for that day  and according to them,I owe them NOTHING as the amount ($4500) was paid in FULL by insurance( i have copies of bills as well).

4) Hospital dont even know the CA that claiming $30

5) So far I disputed with CB's , my lawyer sent letter to CA for Validation, I had our attorney general inquire about it on my behalf.

its been 3 weeks since all letters went out, I applied for a Boa card and they declined, reason being ' recent collection activity'

anyway, did I do the right thing so far ?

anything else you can suggest

thanks

Re: Medical Bill Question

Get a letter from the hospital that you have never been in collections. Also have them state that  (name of CA ) does not and never has represented them.

Copy the letter and mail the copy to the CRAs reporting. CMRRR

The letter that was sent to the CA by the attorney should have been mailed CMRRR. Was it?

I would send the CA an *ITS* letter and follow through.

File a complaint with the FTC, AG in your state and in the state where the CA is.

Re: Medical Bill Question

You may not owe the hospital anything, but any doctor who works on you in the hospital is a contactor and does not work for the hospital. It very well could be that one of the people who worked on you is the one who is billing you the $30. Check with the hospital to see if anyone else was supposed to bill you seperately.
