My Tiny Victory

First off thanx a million. You guys have helped me beyond measure. That's why my message may seem odd. I haven't really gotten any major deletes or score jumps since coming here but you all have given me something better. EMPOWERMENT. I just got green cards showing that my 5 DV letters were delivered. I was at my PO box and you would have thought that I had won the lotto or something. For two secs I actually thought I would cry and I am not a wuss by ANY standards. I realized that I was dealing with my mistakes instead of ignoring them. You all rock !!

The slide from grace is really more like gliding

But to find a graceful way of staying slid

Re: My Tiny Victory

I would track my CMRRR stuff online and when I saw it delievered was estatic... I think it's not being a 'victim' of them anymore that made me happy.

Super duper congrats neech! Knowledge brings enlightenment. You are taking charge of your credit life and controlling IT and not letting it control YOU.

You are well on your way to credit health. Keep up the good work. Smiley Happy

Re: My Tiny Victory

What do we after getting the Green Cards? What if they do not provide you the DV information you requested? I have sent DV to CMI/Comcast. CMI keeps coming back saying we received this collection from customer. They never give me any other information and does not send any thing. What is the course of action I should take? What are my rights and what next steps I should take?

Re: My Tiny Victory

Once you get the green cards back you must immediately dispute those same ca accounts with all 3 credit reporting agencys.

Its called a 1-2 punch.

Basically the CA cannot validate the debt with the CRA's after you have DV'd them, until they provide you with the proof. Since they just got the DV letters you should dispute those same accounts and until they provide you with proof they cannot verify with the CRAs or that is a violation.

I used this to remove two Palisades accounts that were on my credit report. They never once sent me any letter and just showed up on my credit reports. I DV'd them, then when I got the delivery confirmation I disputed with all 3 CRAs and they fell right off.

Re: My Tiny Victory

Hi JoJo, Thanks for your reply. Do we send a copy of the Green Card to CRA's? Could you please send me a copy of the letter you sent to CRA's that you sent along with the GreenCard Copy.

I have sent my DV letter by Certified Mail. I did not request the Green Card. But I do have online confirmation that the letter is signed and delivered. If I send the print out of the Certifild Letter Receipt and a print out of the online conformation that it is received to CRA is that enough? Or should I send another letter with CMRRR? and wait for the green card to come back?

Thanks.

Re: My Tiny Victory

Concord,

No you dont need to send the proof of delivery to the CRA's. The proof of delivery is your proof that way you can hold it against the CA if they verfiy with the CRA before they send you proof of the debt.

I can dig up my letter later as Im at work but all I did was send a dispute letter to the CRA basically stating: This account does not belong to me! I have never had an account with xxxxx and have never recieved any correspondence from xxxxx. Please remove this account immediately!

The first time around you can just send a normal dispute letter similar to the above. Thats what I did. IF you dispute and the items come back verified but you never recieve proof from the CA then you can send a more detailed letter to the CRA for another dispute.
