If this change was made, sure does seem like there would have been an announcement about it.
Just got confirmation from FICO that it was switched on Saturday to TU FICO 8 Risk Score (apparently the "classic" designation ended with TU '04). This is certainly all individual pulls, I'm not positive on the quarterly monitoring but I suspect the subscriber base there was near negligible compared to Scorewatch so it wouldn't surprise me if it was all done at once.
OP and the CSR were correct.

Thanks so much for getting this confirmed for us, Revelate! It will be interesting to see what our scores ending up showing with this change.
I assume there is no real answer to this given all the different models that lenders pull, but I wonder if this will put our TU scores generally closer or further away from what lenders pull?
I consider this an actual upgrade. The TU98 will always be useless due to obsoleteness. The 08 has at least a chance to become mainstream some indefinite time in the future.
The score that I receive each month on my Discover CC Statement, which if I am not mistaken is TU, is always about 20-25 points higher than my previous MyFico TU pulls. I assume they will now be the same or very close assuming they are pulled at or near the same time?
The model that seems to keep me low are the 04 models. I assume that is because those more heavily weigh mortgage issues and since I have a foreclosure.... I pulled my Equifax FICO 04 about a month ago and it was 675, whereas all my other scores are at about 700 or above (with this TU change to 08).

It's not specific to mortgages: it's that isolated lates are somewhat to completely discounted, and it appears anecdotally that derogaries "age" (less impact) faster than under the older models. Same mixed file, my '04 scores have consistently been 30-50 points below my FICO 8 scores across the board, but I have a pristine file since 12/10 though I didn't really start to build until 12/11. I know that with recent derogatories (w/in 3 months call it) they were nearly identical in my case with a 11/13 tax lien, and the scores started to diverge after that.
Seems to hold for true for many mixed file people, at least those that have sufficient mix-of-credit: FICO 8 absolutely hammers people for not having any revolving tradelines. Additionally FICO 8 has a higher max obtainable score, so that's telling as well.

I was curious as well to this matter so I pulled MyFico in addition to just receiving the Discover TU score and they are exactly the same as of 6/4/14.

Can you tell us your source that FICO 8 has a higher max score than FICO '04? From the chart posted by kkapdolee in October of 2013 it appears that the FICO 04 and FICO 8 have the same ranges in Classic, Bankcard Enhanced, and Auto Enhanced although I don't know the quantity or quality of the data that was used to create that chart. The Wikipedia article on "Credit score in the United States" seems to agree with those ranges. I'm working through the footnotes / links on Wikipedia but decided it would be quicker to ask. Thanks.

And as I suspected, I was right, well, this will save me money, because now I can get my score from Wal-Mart or Discover and know its going to match this site! Now if I want to read my bureau, then I can always order a new report of course!
Hmm Has discover been using the 08 for it's fico score they give based on TU?
I just today got the myfico email and my eq score went up to 841 from 814.
Discover has had me at 823 since they started including the TU fico in my statement.

With Discover, Wally and Barclay giving FICO TU08 scores, I wonder if Capital One will ever get with the program and get away from their FAKO scores....
