NFCU hard pull AFTER loan approval?

Hi all,

Just a question out of curiosity.  I applied for a motorcycle loan over the phone at 1:30 am on 9/30 and was approved on the spot.  I picked up the check from NFCU branch at 2pm on same day. It wasn't until late afternoon on 10/1 that I started getting the notifications from various sites that my credit was pulled.

I had applied for a personal loan back in May and the hard pull notifications were immediate.

I was obviously expecting the hard pull for the motorcycle loan but just curious about the delay.  The personal loan was for 24 months but paid off in 3, so I thought maybe I had gotten lucky on a, no hard pull motorcycle loan.😁

I'd attribute this delay to the timing of your application at 0130 and also on a Friday.   Probably something to do with weekend processing.

It isn't that unusual for the 3rd party services to only pick up on a Transunion or Equifax hard pull 24 hours after the fact.

My first two car loans with Navy didn't generate a Hard Pull until they actually processed the loan and had me e-sign the loan docs.

For my most recent (3rd) car loan the Hard Pull happened instantly after I accepted the loan offer. This is also how it was with my mortgage application with them. The HPs were instant for that as well.

Seriously though NFCU is my go to place for a loan now. Simply the best experience I have ever had every single time. So fast and easy and they make it as painless as possible.
