Hi all, just got a call from NFCU account services. Of course, I told him I would call back to make sure I was talking with NFCU. Anyway, apparently, somone called in and tried to change my PIN number. They had my debit card number and the last 4 of my SSN. The only thing that stopped them was the security pass phrase I have on my account. When prompted for that, they hung up.
My main concern is that they had my debit card number AND the last 4 of my SSN. This is a brand new account, and I just started using the debit card semi-regularly about 2 weeks ago. I've used it a couple of times via my Amazon account, but mostly for gas and groceries, and those don't require the last 4 of my SSN. The only place that would have both this debit card numbed and the last 4 of my social is CCT as I just added this card as my payment method two days ago.
Have any of you had any security issues after signing up with CCT?
I had this happen to me but not with them. Capital One send me a brand new credit card used it 4 days and found out someone was trying to ship an amazon order to a different address not on my credit report. When I got the alert on my phone I put a hold on the credit card and called amazon. I went back everywhere I swiped the card and found out a gas station had a reader. Called the cops and they closed down the gas station. They had readers in all of the mas station pumps. So it could be possible that same thing happened to you just somewhere else.
