Need Advice

ok so after some back and forth I was able to get Equifax to remove a collections tradeline from my cc (the CA is FCO) since they are unwilling to provide me with actually billing of repairs to an apartment that I leased 3 years ago's carpenting repair (they are charging me 700 to replace low grade capreting in a very small room for a small iron burn).  Now I got a letter dated 7 June in which FCO is advising me that in 90 days they are scheduled to post or already posted the collections account to all 3 CRA;s (I'm not sure if they realize that EQ removed it from my Cc).  I don't know how to handle this.  What if they post it again and this time Equfax won't be as "nice" and remove. They are very nasty so calling them is out of the question (Fair  Collections and Outsourcing is there name), what type of letter should I send to these idiots?

Re: Need Advice

Do you owe the money? If so, I would try a PFD letter and try to settle for a smaller amount.

Re: Need Advice

Yes I "owe" it to them and tried the PFD but they don't want to work with me.  I offered, 50 percent, then 100 percent and that claim that they HAVE TO report it as paid.

Re: Need Advice

If I am correct, it is not on your CR now. If that is correct, send the money asap before they put it on there. Generally, they allow a certain time period before they post it. I should add, keep a copy of the canceled check and should it appear on your CR, dispute it as this was paid prior to them posting.

Re: Need Advice

I was thinking that might work (Equifax took it off but it may still be on my file with Eq and TU) but with no sure way of knowing  they might update to all the bureaus as "PAID" and then I'm back where I started.

Re: Need Advice

Have you pulled your CR recently? If not, o to annual credit reporting and get your free copies of your CR and see if it is on TU or EQ that will give you a better idea where you stand. Good luck and keep me posted.
