Need help with CA who did not validate yet is now contacting from an "attorney's office"

Hello everyone,  Just wondering if someone can give me some advice.  I DV'd  a CA and they sent me an envelope with nothing but a print out of the debt.  I then replied by letting them know that they didn't meet my requirements,  pointed out the missing documents and asked them to stop their collection efforts etc.

They left me alone for a while but they contacted me again a couple of weeks ago and left a message. I don't have any other CA so I figured it was them but I called them back like not knowing it was them. I spoke to a lady and she told me that she was calling from that CA blah blah so I told her that I wasn't going to talk to them and that I have already asked them for proof that I owed the alleged debt and they couldn't validate so I told her I was hanging up the phone and if she had anything further to say she should write to my address.

I just got a letter from their "attorney's office" which seems to me like a bunch of baloney. They are saying that even though no attorney has personally reviewed my file and no decision has been made whether or not to file a formal suit against me a law suit may be filed if the listed account is not paid in full or otherwise resolved.

I'm pretty sure the SOL has already expired if not it's about to and that's the reason why they are so desperate trying to collect.  I know that since they didn't validate the first time then it should be the end of it but what's the next step for me?  Do I file a legal suit against them for harassment  or do I send a cease and desist letter that includes a copy of my first dv letter which they didn't validate?

I would truly appreciate any advice you guys can give me.

Find out if they really are a lawyer.
