Doing good. When you BT with those 3 new cards that will get rid of some APR debt. You can do it.

Thanks. I appreciate that. I am working on which ones to move now. That WM MC and Stash are killing me with their interest. Crashing for the night. These tired eyes can't afford to make a mistake now. lol

Great work on the new cards. Smiley Happy

It's definitely good to sleep on this. No harm in spending a few days sorting everything if that what it takes to get it right.

Back on page 5, your plan was to pay down to $22,912.50. According to your spreadsheet on page 12, you've paid down to $26,096.47. Do you still have plans to directly pay the additional ~$3,200?

The biggie, though, is that these new cards should alleviate a lot of the interest pressure.

Yes, as a matter of fact 1100 of that 3200 hits my bank Monday. I actually still have a little more coming in as well. Its just taking longer than I thought. I will feel much better after I am under 20k. Also, by the time all my cards settled my UTIL actually hit 35k. You want to see panic in a persons eyes? That day I was genuinely thinking I was not going to make it. It never hit my scores because I was paying them off as they settled.

Can't wait to see an updated spreadsheet in May with all of those 0% balances!  Don't sweat the mini-spree.  As long as you recon PenFed before that HP expires in 90 days, we all promise not to smack you on the head for the Cap1 app, though.  Even if you just ended up with the Promise and a no-fee 4.99% BT that's going to help tremendously.  We are all rooting for you!

I sent PenFed this today:

I recently opened this account on the advice of a friend. I applied for a couple of cards and was declined. I was also going to refinance my vehicle and get a CLOC as well but I stopped the applications. I figured it would be good to contact you and let you know why I was applying. My scores are decent and my payment history is good since my divorce. And, they are only getting better. It turns out my ex-wife and I had different views on credit scores, I cared, she didn’t. I have a couple of high interest store cards I want to balance transfer to pay them off faster. PenFed seems to have outstanding rates and reviews from the online community so I started here. I don't know what type of loan I need to do this but I don't want to leave my current credit union and go to another unless I can move everything. I have a business account, personal account, auto loan and a mortgage. I would love to move all of that to PenFed. But first, I need to know I can get the balance transfer option I need. My hope was the PenFed Promise with a 15k limit to transfer all these smaller cards to and close the smaller cards. I was "credit young" when I got them and they have caused me nothing but trouble. I am sorry for the book but I wanted to make a personal appeal to PenFed rather than leaving an impression that I am just seeking more credit. I am not seeking to add to my credit profile, I am trying to trim it down, add options with lower rates, and pay down my debt faster. If PenFed can help, that would be awesome. If not, I will be disappointed but I will understand. Thank you for your time and if you need to talk to me, feel free to call.

I hope it helps.

I think a few months from now you're going to have an appreciable gain.  Even with that dip, I think you should change your name to MyAvgFICO already.  Looking forward to an update on your PenFed app.

Re: Need help with a plan to pay down high utilization

Got my call from PenFed. They can't help. Debt to income is too bad. Since my business is stagnant I did not include that income since it is not guaranteed. Take that out and my 40 hour job income isn't enough to warrant they loan to BT by cards. Looks like I get to do this the hard way. Or long way, depending on how you look at it.

I give Emily at PenFed kudos for trying though. She seemed geniunely sorry to have to give in to the numbers.

Mylow or should I now say now myimprovedfico,    Don't let this discourage you.  You doing great.  Have tried looking for something partime in weekends yet?    Anything Walart, Lowes, Home Depot , groery store  12 hours equals $100 miniumum .Straight to debt   If you have a trade or skill that is high demand perhaps some one needs you.  I know I retired my membership many years ago in the State CPA Society but still still keep an active accounting license and every year it seeems some firm needs an  extra hand when Tammy or Billy go on vacation for a few weeks or they just have more work than they can do. I pick up some great pocket money.
