Need winter help..

Our furnace is almost 50 some years old, and near the end of its life. We did the whole Sears free estimate for a new heating and cooling system this past spring, but when all said and done was told they could not finance me. I do have a very poor credit history with delinquencies and charge offs, and was lucky to get a house. Everything has been paid off for about a year now, and am no longer in debt (except good debt ie, house, car). Anyone have any idea as to what I can do? Winter is coming and I have a 4 year old I don't want to freeze.

My best advice is to read, read, and read before beginning repair. Getting you to a higher FICO score is quite possible, but it will take hard work before now and when it starts to get cold.

Then I'd recommend pulling each CR directly from each CRA and also recommend pulling all three reports via this site. Then comes the repair. Post specific questions on 1-2 accounts at a time. You'll have more eyeballs willing to help and plenty here to do that.
