I signed up for the 30-day free trial of the Chase ID Protection, and canceled it after a week.
I thought I'd save $5/month by using that instead of TrueCredit, but I found the reports to be much harder to read. TrueCredit provides more information about each account than Chase does. One collection account in particular showed detailed info on TrueCredit but on Chase the CA's and OC's name were both masked -- if I didn't already know what the account was, the information on the Chase report wouldn't have done me any good at all.
So I decided to stick with TrueCredit. But hey, Chase is free for 30 days so you might as well check it out. If it works for you, then you can save a couple of bucks.
(I also tried the CreditKeeper product that was offered through HSBC, and didn't like that one, either.)
