I am in the middle of a lengthy mortgage process. My lender pulled my credit on Wensday and scores were in range. I received the notice from myfico on Thursday morning. Thursday night I get another notice that my score has dropped 33 point due to a collection. I called the company first thing Friday morning and since the amount was only 97.00 I agreed to pay it for removal instead of waiting for investigation.
My questions are:
How soon will my score go back up?
Will they go back to origional levels?
Was that the best move considering Im in the dead middle of a morgage process that may close in a few weeks?
If the CA is going to delete the collection then yes, your scores will rebound to where they were previously. IMO you did the right thing since you're in underwriting now.

Thank you!
I did some research on the collection agency and didnt find any good reports. I hope they honor their word.
