New Inquiry then No Inquiry

I've been pulling Transunion reports from TrueCredit and I applied for a new Target Red card on the 2nd.  I checked my report a few hours after I applied and the new inquiry showed up as "TNB-WEB" with a date of inquiry "05/02/09".  I got a new inquiry (change alert) email tonight so I checked it again today, and it shows as the inquiry having been removed?  It's fine with me if they denied the application, it just seems peculiar.  Anyone else seen this sort of activity before?

Re: New Inquiry then No Inquiry

Search around and you'll find many threads on this. Transunion has an issue with excessive soft inquiries as they will lead to the removal of hard inquiries. However, as the soft inquiries clear, TU will re-add the hard inquiries. Expect them to come back in the future.

Oh, weird.  I would have never thought of that and when I think about it I have been doing quite a few pre-approval softs lately.  Thanks for the info!
