"Pay for Delete," meaning, you pay the balance in full or settle in full, then the collection agency will remove the collection account from your credit report.

wpolomis, I tried to break off your three questions into its own thread, but I pulled a crazy mod move and broke off only one, somehow.

Anyway, PFD=Pay For Delete, DV=Debt Validation, which you should almost always do before a PFD.
