Next step?

I have a credit carda ccount in collections. I posted last week that I spoke to the representative and was shocked at how friendly he was that like a fool I agreed to initially 3 paymnets, and provided them with my checking acct info. After posting on the board I was advised to still send a PFD letter, that it might not be too late. Well they got my letter and boy! he wasn't quite so nice. I was told that they absolutely wouldn't provide PFD and was furthermore told tht "No Company would agree to such an agreement" I informed him that I know that to not be the case. ANyway, my question now is, do I continue to just make payments? Do I attempt a second PFD letter? DO I just wait the 7 years until this collection falls off?
