No credit report

When trying to pull my wife's credit report Equifax claims they have no report for her. Sprint just approved us for two phones free based on her 'equifax credit score'.  Also we have an auto loan that reports to equifax and they say they have reported the last 4 months.  What do we do from here?

Thanks for any advice.

Re: No credit report

Where did you try to purchase your report from? MyFICO?

Re: No credit report

From Equifax.com which stated we needed to call to confirm identity.  We called equifax and the representative said she could find no report at all for her.

Re: No credit report

I'd try via annualcreditreport.com just to be sure. It's free once per year. If it still doesn't work via EQ or any other service using EQ, then I'd call and ask what they need in the way of ID. Sometimes they'll tell you to mail in a copy of your license, utility bill, etc.

Re: No credit report

That's the thing. The rep said there is no credit file at all associated with her  Social security number under any name.

Re: No credit report

Your wife needs to get some credit.  I added my wife as an authorized user on some of my cards, and opened one as a joint account.  These are the only accounts she has. After doing this, I was able to pull an EQ report from myFICO score watch.  Her report + score is outstanding.

Re: No credit report

I have already stated that we have an auto loan in her name that reports monthly to Equifax. They have reported the last 3 months.  Sprint just approved us for phones based on HER Equifax report which sprint assigned a score of 690.  So you see she should definately already have a credit report.  Thanks anyway

Re: No credit report

I had to wait through at least 6 months reporting for my wife to get her reports.   Possibly 3 months is not long enough reporting.

Re: No credit report

That makes sense. But if that were the case would sprint give her  a score based on no report at all, or would they say insuffecienct credit history. Where did sprint even get a score if there was NO information.   I just don't get it....
