long story short I decided to leave t-mobile after I upgraded my phone so I returned the phone a month ago and they received it on October 31st. They have not registered as returned thus I am still paying for the phone monthly payment plus the plan and my Verizon plan . That means I am paying $140 for Verizon and around $90 for t-mobile . I really would love to not pay their bills but I am pretty sure that will bite me back later in collections right ?

Did you sign a contract when you got the new phone and was it returned within the return period? If you did then give them a call to cancel your plan if it's not under contract. If it's under contract then you don't have much of a choice but to cancel and pay the cancellation fee. I know it might be a bit steep but its waaaaaaay better than getting sent to collections.
+1 The last thing you need is for T-Mobile to send your account to collections and report negatively on your CRs. It would hurt to call and talk to them.

T-mobile don't do contracts and I returned it during the return Period ....their stupidity and lying is making me wait 30 days and having an active phone yet was returned 30 days ago ...
Call them and find out what happened. You will need to work this out with T-Mobile. Once the phone is returned, you shouldn't need to keep paying for it.

I have and this been going on for months ... with no resolution in sight
Jeez, if that's the case, wouldn't it be cheaper to pay them the price of the phone and cancel the plan altogether?
If the phone itself is worth less than "140 a month for a few months" then you could probably save money by just paying them upfront for the phone.
And then start a dispute with them regarding your paying for the phone even though you mailed it back - ask for a refund.
Can you specify the steps you went through when you returned the phone? Did you take it into a store, mail it to an address, did it have a pre-approved Return Authorization Form number so that you know they expected it back?
Cell phone companies are huge, their preferred process is to send OUT phones, lots and LOTS of phones, and so if you go against their preferred process, work your way upstream, you have to ensure you are noticed and you play by their rules.
Hopefully it works out for you. Have you visited the store where you got the phone, a local T-Mobile owned store, not a franchise / fly-by-night kiosk in the mall?
FWIW, every time I want to do anything with my AT&T plan or phone, I go to the local AT&T store, because there is someone there who knows how things should work, and I don't get lost in a website.

How has it been going on for months if you returned it a month ago? If you can confirm delivery have you provided proof of delivery to them? You do need to sort this out with them.

I sent it over a month ago and have proof they received it . They need to register it though as received so they can take it off my account which they have yet to do over a month later . Just annoying I am now paying 2 phone bills with no resolution I sight and considered slightly to just let it go and just not pay for it but remembered they would just send it to collections
