I am on the third version of my address.
Let say version 1 of my address was: "1995 NE 21ST AVE APT 23B".
For various reasons, the city changed my address to "2005 NE 22ND AVE APT 23B". This would be version 2. It is physically the same place.
Version 3 is "2005 NE 22ND AVE APT B" with just "B" as the apartment indicator instead of "23B".
Version 3 is what the utility company uses and is what works in online address validators, while version 2 fails. I think that is why I have trouble with online bank applications inspite no derogs in Chexsystems and other CRAs
I recently went to the DMV to change the address on my driver's license to version 3 from version 2. This was when I was told by the DMV clerk I would be issued a new drivers license number!
Who do I inform of my new driver's license number? I assume banks, auto insurance company, employer. What about, health insurance, doctors. Do I inform Chexsystems, Lexisnexis, Transunion, Equifax, Experian, etc.
The whole point of doing this was to make it easier to qualify for new bank accounts in CRA like Chexsystems.
What a mess.
The problem with Chexsystems is their scoring model views address changes as increased risk. Multiple address changes within a couple years can tank score and get you flagged as a fraud risk. That can result in denials when attempting to open new checking/bank accounts. I'd speak with a Chexsystems supervisor about your situation.
With the new official address is there any risk of mail using an older address no longer getting delivered? Contact banks/financial institutions to submit address change requests. You can provide an updated DL # at that time.
Contact your Auto insurer with your new DL # and any change in expiration date. Unless you are a company driver, work should not require an updated DL. However, no reason not to provide it when submitting your address change.
Other entities should not need an updated DL #. It is primarily used for identity verification on applications and renewals.

Tell me about it. Chexsystems has been like a canker sore that will not heal like the last few years. All mail gets deliver whether I use "APT B" or "APT 23B". I have contected almost all my banks about the address change pryer to getting a new DL#. I will message to banks about the DL #.
This is going to suck.

It is critical to inform any institution that uses your driver's license for identity verification, especially banks, auto insurance companies, and your employer. For your specific issue with online bank applications, the most important step is to contact **LexisNexis** directly to ensure they have your new driver's license number and the correct "version 3" address on file. Unlike the major credit bureaus, LexisNexis is a primary source for identity verification used by banks, and updating their records is your best way to resolve the validation failures and qualify for new accounts. You do not need to directly inform ChexSystems or the three major credit bureaus of your new license number.
In looking at places that need IDs that are accurate. My health insurance companies and health providers are now asking for proof upon checkin and I need to give them the new physical drivers license. They scan the DL with the picture into their system for identification purposes. So far they have been willing to wait until I actually request services.
The actual insurance providers seem a little more flexible.
Just yesterday one of my health care providers mentioned they don't have a picture of me on file and asked to take one for their records. I declined at the time.
Is the next big scam selling identities and insurance policy numbers for medical care access? I suspect stripping illegal immigrants of their insurance benefits will serve to fuel this type of fraud.
