WOW,

Personally I have had a couple successes.  I recommend putting "PFD successes" into the search bar.  There are many stories of success.  I would list who you are trying to get a PFD from and see if anyone has had any luck with them.  Good luck.

You can always try and in some cases you will succeed but the key is to be realistic in your expectation and realize that if they do it, great, if not then don't feel discouraged just try again or let it ride for a while and try again. Or when all else fails, try something else.

When you do use them make sure not to use all CAPS, the CA's might not take it too well

Not just them, I find CAPS annoying and rude when I encounter it in daily use even. Couple of words for emphasis, I get, but otherwise its just bad netiquette.

I have success with 2 PFD's.  One I did for about 30% of the balance and the other I paid for 60% of the balance.  The only reason I was able to pay @30% on the one balance is that it was due to come off my report in about 9- 11 months so I had a little leverage.  I would very rarely pay more than @70% of a balance for a PFD.  It is also generally more safe to get the PFD in writing so the CA doesn't try to screw you over.
