PFD to a CA

Do you think it's okay to PFD a CA?  Much like the other poster, will the OC try to collect as well?  I did DV the CA and they sent a bill from the OC.

So ... the bill is $400, can I PFD and ask to pay $200?  Would that set them off?

Thanks.

Re: PFD to a CA

OC is an energy company (and owns the account), and they are NOT reporting.  Only the CA is reporting.

I would offer a PFD for 100%. But that's me. DW had a CA once that offered a settlement. We paid and they deleted. However, that CA sold the balance to another CA and the collections process continued. I don't trust them.

However, if you are 100% certain that the OC still owns it, then the CA wouldn't sell the balance of the debt because they don't own it.
