POPULAR BANK DINGED MY CREDIT REPORTS 5 TIMES!

So, I decided to app for an Avianca Card this morning, as I've heard that they don't care about inquiries and usually give a generous credit line. However, what I CAN'T understand is why did they ding my credit reports-TRANSUNION AND EQUIFAX-for 5 INQUIRIES EACH FOR ONE APPLICATION!!!! When I called and checked on this, I was told to wait until my application finished processing, since I didn't get an instant answer, and I would be able to dispute the inquiries and they would remove them. WHY DID THEY DO IT IN THE FIRST PLACE IS MY QUESTION?!?!?!?!? Has anyone else had this issue?

While this is certainly irritating, I have little doubt that you'll be able to get them to remove the excess inquiries and promptly as well.

If the OP drives them crazy to the point where they will recode them. I speak from experience and loved doing it.
