Re: PORTFOLIO RECOVERY ASSOC. - HELP!

I usually give the CA a time limit in which to delete it. I go by my mood at the time...5 - 15 days

Re: PORTFOLIO RECOVERY ASSOC. - HELP!

Well, they rec'd the letter on 1/14 and it's 1/18 and it's still there, so I'm giving it till next week, and I guess I'll figure out what to do at that point. I can't really afford an attorney at the moment, given that I'm in the process of selling my house and moving, but I have to do what I have to do I guess.

You may not need to pay for an attorney - if PRA has violated the law (I say if because I'm still kinda new and don't know all the credit reporting/collection regs and laws yet) you may be able to get an attorney who would take the case for free.  They'll get their money from PRA.
