TC is TrueCredit and yes what you get from them are FAKOs, but they're excellent for being able to update your report every 24hours.

It is a very good idea to get your real FICOs for each CR periodically.

Oh, go through the walmart site to sign up for TC, you'll get a little bit of a discount. No coupon required.

Re: PROS - Fakos

I recommend getting Fakos evey single day from TC, and every once in a while, pay for your real FICO's from this site.

Has anyone noticed similarity to Fico's and Fakos? At first they were wildly different, but now they are within about 10-15 points of each other. Fakos slightly higher then Ficos. Also, if a Faco does down, a fico almost always goes down too. If a fako goes up, it might go up a lot more then a fico, but the fico still does go up.

Anyone else notice similarities?

Re: PROS - Fakos

I have to say when I paid for FICO EQ I was happy to see it had me 60 points higher than FAKO...Do people seriously pay $30/month to check scores only?

Re: PROS - Fakos

I am guilty of spending over $100 one month to check scores from this site...because I was so obsessed. You have to be careful, it's like gambling. OR the way I looked at it, I was paying $15 a pop to brighten my day--and I justified it like, well a few drinks would cost this much, and checking my fico is more responsible then drinking..blah, blah, blah...anyway, I'm done being a fico junkie, and have stopped paying for the expensive "fixes" LOL.

Yup, I'm sorry to say I do. Smiley Surprised I have amex credit secure to check daily fakos, but they are so far off it isn't funny. The great thing about credit secure it that I have the ability to see the slightest change, the alerts tell me when anything has changed (inq, new accounts posting, baddies coming off etc) I'm getting at least 2 alerts a week the last couple of weeks. In the last 3 months I've opened 3 accounts so as inq and the accounts hit each report I see them hit. Awesome.

I've also noticed the similarities. My FAKOs from TC are hovering near my FICO scores. At one point, though, my FICOs were actually higher than my FAKOs.
