Paid as agreed

I hope to get a suggestion on how to have a couple of 30 day baddies removed from my credit history.  I've worked so hard to pay everything on time the last 4 years and getting new blemishes now is depressing!

I live in south Florida and we got hit with 2 hurricanes in September 2004 and another one in October 2005.  I spoke with a representatives of Capital One and explained that we had no electricity for over 3 weeks each time among other problems and would be sending my payment as soon as I could verify my paycheck had been automatically deposited. Each time I was assured that if I made my payments the following month the late payment would not be reflected on my credit history due to an "act of God".

Sure enough, the dings are there for October 2004 and November 2005.  The account was PIF shortly afterwards but I was charged a yearly fee in March 2006.  I never noticed the bill as I was receiving tons of promotions from Capital One.  They called to tell me I was late.  I paid the bill over the phone (plus late fees) and was told it wouldn't be reported as late.  I chose to close the account because of the yearly fee.  They reported this incident as well.

Am I just stuck now waiting for these to fall off several years from now?

Re: Paid as agreed

Thank you for the suggestion and the link!  I don't have much faith in Cap 1's goodwill but it'll only cost me 41 cents to find out.

This forum is great! I've learned quite a bit here in just a couple of days.
