Paid charge off or written off WHAT DOES THIS MEAN??

I have a few things on my report that say paid charge off or paid, closed/account charged off. what are these and can they take them off if i dispute it because they were paid. also if i paid a settlement and it now shows paid in full for less than full balance does it have to stay on the report or can i ask them to remove it since it was paid. and what date should i be looking at to determine when it should be removed there is when it was opened, last reported date, and reported since date also a charge off as of date.  THANK YOU FOR ANY ADVICE

Re: Paid charge off or written off WHAT DOES THIS MEAN??

they should drop of 7-7.5 years after the DOFD you can try to GW them off but as long as they are accurately reporting that they are paid/collections or paid/charge offs they can keep reporting even if you dispute them as inaccurate they will just verify them if you paid them.. And yes they can report paid settlement for less than full balance also at this point you can GW them and see if it works if not time is all you have on your side..... you can call the CRA's and get the DOFD
hope this helps some
