Palisades Collection...HELP

As most of you know I have been trying to fix up my score...my parents received a letter from Palisades Collection addressed to me....i dont live with my parents anymore...i was visiting and they gave it to me it says:

50% Discount Opportunity

Debtor ID:  1546844

Previous Creditor: AT&T

Current Creditor: Palisades Collection

Acct Num: 002500000064033996

Total Amount due: 827.93

In an effort to resolve your seriously delinquent account....offering you to settle at 50%...etc.

If you settle your account now, we will update your credit bureau profile to reflect a settled account. The letter is dated December 21....what do I do?

I dont know anything about this account. My only experience with Palisades is that my mom used to have a cell phone with at&t back in 2001 and then something happened and now they are garnishing her wages for another 4 months...we ignored all the letters they sent and all this was before myfico.com

If it is back in 2001, probably SOL ran out on this account. Send them a DV and see what they come back with.

Palisades are real scumbags!!!!  send a DV  CMRRR   do not sign your name  just type it in! Never offer any info....just use whats on the letter....keep checking your CR!!

I keep seeing this...unless I missed something. What is the point of NOT signing?

I used to sign letters when trying to get anything done though that's a while ago. Haven't been signing them lately.

Hopefully they don't have my old letters.

I sent them a DV letter, and they never responded, but a few days later they had deleted the account from all three CRA's.  Mine was also AT&T.
