Palisades Collection...is this legal?

I have 2 collections that Palisades are reporting and they are not mine. Equifax is in the process of investigating them. I called Palisades and they said account is with LDG Financial Services. I called LDG and they said Palisades bought the loan but they collect on it. Today I am sending Palisades a DV letter. What else should I do. Is this legal that they are reporting on my credit bureau but they tell me to talk to LDG.

Never, ever, talk to a CA. Especially ones like Palisades. I would send the DV letter ASAP. Remember not to sign it.

Palisades is one of the nastiest CAs around. Do not give them any information at all. Everything always in writing.

Is LDG reporting also? Do you owe LDG? If you do not, it would be too easy for them to pull the account back from the CA.

You are much better off when dealing with an OC. You can call them anytime.

I had one from Palisades, they were not licensed in my state. They removed the account from all three CRAs.

I don't owe either. I was a victim of identity theft. I called Palisades one day to see why they were reporting and they said I had to deal with LDG but LDG is not showing anywhere on my credit report.
