Hello, There was a judgment entered against me in November 2003. My wages were garnished from that time up until about March 2007. I tried to contact the company that was doing the garnishing and they did not call me back. I left messages, not return calls. I tried to get do updates to my credit report to change the status of the judgment as paid, but it would never go through. A couple of days ago, I called the company again as another effort to get some information. I finally got a person on the phone. They said the judgment was still open and what happened was when they sent word to their client on if they should still collect, their client did not respond, so the garnishing stopped. Now, I've been told two different things by the company responsible for the collecting. First they said they they had not heard from the client. I spoke to a supervisor and he said they had heard from the company and they said collection should continue. However, if that's the case, they still have not made arrangements with me. While I understand I probably should have kept following up to find out about this debt, something does not sound right to me. Can anyone offer some type of advice? Also, should I write a letter to go with my credit report about this?
