But when will it fall off? If FL SOL is 4 years and my DOLA was 3-01 shouldnt it have dropped off already? What are the guidelines for it dropping off? and Do you have any advice for the 2 questions I asked above in my original post?

Call the CRAs and ask them when the date of first delete was. Your collection will fall off 7 years after this date.

Re: Pay or Dont Pay Collections?

FIRST AND FORMOST NEVER BE LATE ON ANY PAYMENT
PAY ALL CC DOWN TO 1-9% UTILZATION
TRY TO PAY DOWN ANY OTHER DEPT THAT YOU CAN
WORK ON GETTING THOSE COLLECTION REMOVED IF YOU CAN
TRY TO GET NEW CREDIT JUST DONT GO HOG WILD
AND TRY TO LIMIT YOUR INQUIRES

Re: Pay or Dont Pay Collections?

Should I focus on paying of one card a month or split the balances over a 6 month time frame? I would like to see my score soar too. WHat is the fastest way of doing this?

Re: Pay or Dont Pay Collections?

But for the collections 5 of them are medical and one is a cell phone. How do I go about getting them deleted? Sorry, I know I'm asking allot of questions but I'm new to the site :-)

Re: Pay or Dont Pay Collections?

THE FASTEST WAY IS YOUR CREDIT CARDS.

YOU NEED TO GET THEM TO THE 1-9% AND YOU WILL SEE A GOOD JUMP.
I DID.

IF I WERE YOU I WOULD START WITH THE ONE THAT HAS THE HIGHEST INTREST RATE AND THE SMALLEST BALANCE PAY IT OFF WHILE KEEPING OTHER PAYMENTS UP AND AFTER THAT ONE IS PAID OFF TAKE WHAT YOU WERE PAYING ON THAT ONE AND APPLY IT TO THE NEXT ONE KEEP GOING FROM THERE

Re: Pay or Dont Pay Collections?

IF YOUR INCOME WILL ALLOW WHAT YOU SHOULD DO IS CONTACT THE HOSPITAL OR DR'S OFFICE TO SEE IF THEY HAVE ANY PROGRAMMS THAT WILL HELP YOU PAY THESE. IF NOT ASK THEM IF THEY WOULD PULL THEM BACK FROM THE COLLECTION AGENCY AND REMOVE FROM YOUR CREDIT REPORT AND YOU WILL MAKE PAYMENTS TO THEM UNTIL IT IS PAID OFF.

Re: Pay or Dont Pay Collections?

EQ  goes by DOLA   TU and EX  DOFD

SOL in Fl  is 4 years for open accounts (CC) 5 tears for signed contracts ( hospital and DR. might be signed contracts)
simple SOL
more detailed SOL

SOL v CRTP

IF this is a CA  you can send them a DV   CMRRR. If they do not answer within 30 days they can not report....so at that time dispute it with all CRAs that are reporting.

Re: Pay or Dont Pay Collections?

Yes, That's what I plan on doing paying off the cards first but now I just got a letter in the mail that one of the three credit cards has been charged off and sent to a collection agency! GREAT!! Thats all I needed!! So can i pay the balance in full to the OC and in small print NOT TINY PRINT say by cashing this check the payee agrees to delete account from payors credit report. Do you think that will work? I will have a copy from my bank showing the cashed the check and it will cleary show the disclousure..... IF NOT

How do I get this charge off off of my report? If its not one thing its another, I tell yah!

Re: Pay or Dont Pay Collections?

I owed my doctor $59 bucks from 2002 and he put me in collections for it, well his company did dunno why considering I didn't know about it, and see him annually. Either way I faxed a letter to the billing department, and he (my doctor) faxed be back a letter stating if I pay he'd have it deleted from my credit report, he did apologize because he said nothing in my records was noted on the balance. He also got a letter from the collection agency and faxed it to me about an hour ago, stating they'd be the one taking it off once paid in full.

If anything I think hospitals and doctors would be open to the idea of getting the account paid - as in I think they'd be a tad more flexible within reason of course.
