Paying OLD collections

I know that they dont raise your score.... but if you are going to try to buy a house dont they make you pay them anyway? I am thinking of getting a house in 2010 and a few wont fall off untill 2012 and 2013 for hubby so I just Dv'd them and am waiting, If they reposond I do a PFD right? If they dont respond I send the other letter saying deleted. Do I send this to the CRAs too? The dealine is approcuhing and I want to have all my letters ready for CMMR.
Thanks Jessica

Re: Paying OLD collections

It depends.  Please specify exactly how old the collections are, how much they are, what type of collection they are, and in what state.  Thanks

Re: Paying OLD collections

Mortgage lender look back 36 months...at the most...FHA loans are 12-24 months...so I think you'll be okay in 2010....and they don't make you pay collection unless they are fairly new...but it might look better if you pay them...even better if you PFD them...

Re: Paying OLD collections

How much are they?  It may be pretty easy to get a PFD...especially if they out of statue.

Re: Paying OLD collections

I don't think mortgage companies worry about medical collections AT ALL...I was told that before by Countrywide...and a realtor...as long as it's not for any credit items...
