My Equifax updated this morning, TransUnion has not yet, it never hit my Experian. Check your balances after they update one of mine is $87 to good my way and $27 to the bad their way compared to PenFed app balances
My latest update from PenFed...........
Thank you for contacting us about the account balance reported to the credit reporting agencies for your PenFed consumer loan or line of credit. PenFed sends information about your loan to credit reporting agencies monthly. Our most recent reporting for your PenFed consumer account occurred on September 1, 2025. Unfortunately, due to an isolated system error, the reporting included an inaccurate loan balance. On September 2, 2025, PenFed fixed the system error and immediately updated all three credit reporting agencies with the correct account balance. PenFed confirmed that the credit reporting agencies are currently processing the update to your file. The latest update I have received is that Transunion has also processed the file and so you should see the updated score.
PenFed apologizes for any inconveniences caused by our reporting error. PenFed will also be following up with you with a formal resolution letter in the next couple days.
If you have any questions or need further documentation about the correct loan balance for your PenFed consumer loan, please feel free to contact me.
Regards,
Sumeet
OMG this is so annoying...I got the same thing. $15,268 "balance" on a small $300 overdraft LOC. Knocked my TU and EQ down 20 points.
What was super weird was that the balance was showing on the refreshed EQ report here, but not when I logged into MyEquifax.
Looks like EQ has updated as of this morning. Going to check TU shortly. Strangely enough, this never hit EX.
Update. My Equifax yesterday went from -29 points to +31 points. Experian wasn't affected on my end. Transunion still showing -29 point drop. Just received the following email.......
Dear Member,
A review of our records indicates that on 9/4/2025 we received your request to investigate the accuracy of your credit bureau report. Thank you for taking the time to advise us of your concerns.
We have researched the account in question and determined that an update to your credit report was necessary. As a result, we submitted an updated credit file to the three major credit reporting agencies to whom we report, Equifax, TransUnion and Experian. This update may take up to 30 days to reflect on your credit report.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. If you have any questions, please contact us at 1-800-247-5626.
Sincerely,
Bruno Buccolo

I have the same problem. I filed a complaint and I can't get any answers until Oct 6. Did you see how they tried to fix it? They changed it from being delinquent to a charge off! That stays on you credit report for seven years. It basically saying they couldn't get the money from you after several years. It dropped my credit report another 30 points. I think it's time to get a lawyer, maybe we can all band together.
